Happy Monday! Hope you guys all are having a great start to your week, since I have not done a beauty or makeup post in a long time I figured why not kick of the week with one? Right?
So today I wanted to talk with you all about the Original Beauty Blender v. The Real Technique Sponge. I have owned both for quite some time now and I don’t believe I have ever done a post comparing the two. For the few weeks surrounding Christmas I was using the beauty blender basically every single day and I did love the application that I was getting from it.
Since coming back go school, I had left my other sponge here and decided to try it again, let me tell you all I forgot how much I love this sponge. I think that the Real Technique sponge is so much denser that it soaks up a lot less of your makeup, which is a great thing because we don’t want to waste any of our precious foundation, especially an expensive kind. For the last few months as you guys know I have gone back to my Kat Von D “Lock it Tattoo foundation” and usually when using this makeup I use about one pump and that will give me full coverage over my entire face. But when I was using the Beauty Blender I was getting to the point where I needed to use two full pumps and that was a not so great thing for me because I was wasting so much product getting soaked up in my sponge.
The Real Technique sponge is used the same way as the beauty blender I went it under the faucet in the bathroom with lukewarm water and then blend my foundation in with it, I know it sounds weird that it is wet but it helps to moisturize your skin as your foundation goes on. Since my foundation is super ratifying and can be dry sometimes this helps with the longevity and ultimately just how the foundation looks on my face.
One of the best parts of the Real Technique sponge is it retails for only $6 at Ulta!
Now, the Beauty Blender retails for right around $20 at Sephora, so anywhere you can save a little money is always helpful!
So if any of you guys are beauty blender users, I totally suggest checking out the Real Technique sponge and if you haven’t used a beauty sponge yet, I definitely suggest checking either of these out! But go for the cheaper one first!

I found the Real Techniques sponge nearly fell apart when trying to wash it, it was very annoying! I definitely want to try out a beauty blender instead!
